Jackie Kelm created this approach and then studied its efficacy with a group of voluntary participants. What did she find?
There was a significant increase in the overall percent of time participants felt happy and a significant decrease in the percent of time they experienced unhappiness (happiness increased from 48% at the beginning of the study to 67% after 6 months). The author identified that the findings suggest that the changes in happiness percentages resulting from the exercise were sustained for the five months following the study.
